Ohayo gozaimasu minna-san!

Recently I was studying 8-part scroll “Genre scenes of the twelve months” (月次風俗図屏風).
16 century, Important Cultural Property, treasure of Tokyo National Museum.

In “winter part” of the scroll I’ve found scene of snowballs playing. Interesting fact is that players use small shields for snowballs fighting.

Some people use fans or other things as kinda shields.

The idea is to recreate such period amusement in the framework of the Association events.

Winter is usually a dead season in reenactment movement and period snowballs fighting can be very interesting event.

But equipment seems to be the problem. Our winter is a little bit harder than Japanese one. So we must think about adequate period winter garb.

It's not a problem if you've got enough sake! ;)
